The Time to Build
We must meet the growing need in Raleigh.
Since 2004, North Raleigh Ministries has been responding to the needs of our community, equipping families and individuals in crisis with the resources and skills they need to achieve stability. We believe our community is only as strong as our most vulnerable members. The stronger they are, the stronger we all are.
We’ve mapped out a big, bold future for North Raleigh Ministries. Building Strong Foundations is the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the history of North Raleigh Ministries, with a goal of $4 million in private support. Your gifts will nourish, connect, equip and empower our neighbors in need. Your investment will help us attract and retain qualified staffing, purchase and renovate a building for our Crisis & Development Center and build an even stronger foundation for our future – and a brighter future for our community.

Building a strong community.
INCREASED
SERVICE OFFERINGS
We’re seeking to add a counseling service, as well as aging and disability-specific programs for those who otherwise could not afford them to meet our area’s growing demand for mental health services. To make these new programs a reality, we also need to add more qualified staffing.
INCREASED
SERVICE
AREAS
With our increased service offerings, we’ll reach an expanded demographic of individuals. And, with both increased space and capacity, we’ll have the opportunity to serve four more zip codes in the Raleigh area, leading to a total of 11 of the 15 Raleigh zip codes being served.
INCREASED
PHYSICAL
SPACE
In our current space at the Crisis and Development Center, staff shares offices, our Food Pantry overflows into undesignated spaces and we lack private rooms for the confidential services we provide. We need more space to accommodate new participants, programs and staff.
These goals culminate in the purchase and renovation of a new building to house our Crisis and Development Center – a place where our staff has the space to work efficiently and our clients have the opportunity to experience transformational support in a safe environment that allows for better access, more efficient delivery of programs and future growth.
OUR MOTIVATION
Chris and Delores’ Story
Prior to joining the Journey Program, Chris and Delores were in a place where they wanted to give up. They both had full-time jobs at a university, but with their monthly expenses and accumulated debt, they felt stuck. Then, when Chris had to take time off work due to medical reasons, it brought them to a breaking point.
Prior to joining the Journey Program, Chris and Delores wanted to give up. They both had full-time jobs, but with their monthly expenses and accumulated debt, they felt stuck. Chris had to take time off work due to medical reasons which brought them to their breaking point.
Thankfully, they agreed it was time to make a change and joined the Journey Program. Weekly coaching sessions helped them find the root cause of the problem. Weekly grocery assistance freed up their finances for other expenses. Even more exciting, Chris and Delores paid down $1,400+ of debt and saved $1,000 in emergency funds.
Today, Chris and Delores participate in our quarterly Journey Program graduate support group, attend marriage counseling, proactively save for retirement and are continuing a trajectory toward a self-sustaining future. The Journey Program helped them with much more than just financial literacy – it helped them become a healthy family unit again. They put in the hard work and built a strong foundation that will leave a legacy for their children and the people around them.
